White Charcoal Sample vs. Trial Order vs. Commercial Order
Sample — A sample is a small quantity used primarily to evaluate the charcoal itself before a larger purchase. Buyers may check product appearance and cleanliness, piece size and shape, ignition and heat behavior, ash characteristics, and handling during actual grilling. SOHI's current sample reference is approximately 3–5 kg, subject to destination and shipping feasibility.
Trial Order — A trial order is larger than a sample but remains below the standard commercial MOQ. It may be suitable for a restaurant that wants to test the charcoal during normal operations, or for an importer or distributor that wants to evaluate the product with selected customers before committing to a container order. Trial quantities are discussed case by case because shipping feasibility and total logistics cost can vary significantly by destination.
Commercial Order — For regular commercial imports, SOHI's standard reference is approximately 10–11 metric tons for one 20ft container. Final loading quantity depends on the confirmed packing configuration, dangerous-goods requirements and loading plan.

Shipping White Charcoal Samples and Small Trial Orders
Shipping charcoal internationally requires more planning than shipping ordinary non-dangerous goods. Wood charcoal is transported under dangerous-goods regulations. For international sea freight, charcoal of vegetable origin is handled under UN 1361 — CARBON, animal or vegetable origin — Class 4.2. Current shipment requirements are subject to the applicable dangerous-goods regulations, carrier acceptance and route-specific conditions.
Air or Courier Shipment — Air or courier shipment may be considered for sample quantities when an appropriate dangerous-goods service is available. It can provide a shorter transit time than sea freight, but acceptance, packing requirements, documentation and cost depend on the airline, courier, forwarder and destination. Standard express-courier acceptance should therefore not be assumed until the route has been checked.
Sea Freight — LCL — Less than Container Load (LCL) sea freight may be considered for larger trial quantities below a full container. Availability depends on whether the forwarder, consolidator and carrier accept Class 4.2 charcoal on the requested route. Although the freight cost per kilogram may be lower at higher quantities, buyers should compare the total logistics cost, including dangerous-goods handling and applicable origin and destination charges.

Can I test the charcoal before ordering a 20ft container?
Yes. A sample or, where practical, a larger trial quantity can be discussed before moving to the standard commercial order of approximately 10–11 metric tons per 20ft container.
